1) like the concept of…是插入语，主干是the anthropological concept of culture… is

an abstract concept;

2) which引导的定语从句中make是谓语动词，宾语是an immense amount of concrete research and

understanding，possible是宾语补足语。 汉译逻辑要点：

1) set算是一个 熟词僻意 ，是 集，集合 的意思。下文的介词短语in mathematics作定语在修饰它。是数学中的 集合 概念。

2) which…定语从句比较复杂，所以根据定语从句的翻译方法，可以翻译在先行词后面，用代词 它 来代替先行词的方法来处理。

3) makes possible immense amounts of concrete research and

understanding这个结构中的make spossible其实是make…possible的结构，宾语immense amounts of

concreteresearch and understanding太长，所以放到最后面了。make…possible是 使…成为可能 的意思。

4) amount of是 一些 的意思， immense amounts of是 大量 的意思;concrete research and

understanding可以直接翻译为 具体的研究和认识 ，它是指 大量对于人类学的研究和认识 。
