Food Festival

食物节

In October, every school in England has a food festival. 在十月的时候，英国的每一个学校都有一个食品节。

Children take food to school for a special lesson.

孩子们带着食物到学校上一节特殊的课。

The teacher talks about the food. 老师讲解每样食物。

After class the children give the food to poor people who live near the school. 课后，学生们会把食物送给学校附近的穷人们。

“What did you bring?”Sara asks Mark. “你带来了什么?” 萨拉问马克。

“An egg,”he says. “What did you bring?” “一个鸡蛋，”他说。 “你带来了什么?” “A bag of rice,” she says. “一袋大米，”萨拉说。 They give their food to the teacher. 学生们把他们带来的食物给老师。

“Sit down, children,”says the teacher. “请坐，孩子们。”老师说。

“We’ll learn about food and where it comes from.” “我们来学习关于这个食物和它们来自哪里。”

“That’s easy!”shouts Jenny. “Food comes from the supermarket.” “这很简单!”珍妮大声的说，“食物来自超市。” “That’s right,”the teacher says. “答对了，”老师说。

The children sit quietly. They don’t know. 学生们安静了下来。他们之中没有人知道这个问题的答案。 They live in the city. 他们都住在城市里。

They know about buses and traffic lights, but they don’t know about farms. 他们知道公共汽车以及交通灯，但是他们对于农业事物却一无所知。

The teacher picks up a carton of milk. “Where does this milk come from?” 老师拿起一盒牛奶。“牛奶是从哪儿来的?” The children are quiet. They don’t know. 学生中鸦雀无声。他们不知道。

The teacher picks up the bag of rice. “Where does rice come from?” 老师举起一袋大米。“大米来自哪里?”


The children are quiet. Nobody knows. 学生们很安静。还是没有人知道。

“Does it grow on a tree?”asks Stan.’ “它是从树上长出来的吗？”斯坦问。

“No, it doesn’t grow on a tree. It grows on the ground,”answers the teacher. “不是这样的，大米不是从树上长出来的。它们是从地上长出来的，”老师说。 “What country does rice come from?” “大米来自哪些国家呢？”

“England,”all the children shout. “英国。”所有的学生都大声的回答。 “No, says the teacher.” “不对，”老师说。

Our country is too cold for rice. Rice needs a hot country with lots of water.’ “我们的国家对于大米的生长来说太冷了。大米需要有温暖气候而有大量水源的国家才能生长。” “China,”says Mark. “中国。”马克说。 “Good,”says the teacher. “很好。”老师说。

“The best rice comes from China.”

After the lesson, the children go into the school hall. 课后，学生门去了学校的礼堂。 All the classes are there. 所有班级的同学都在那。

The students sing songs about farmers, and read poems about animals. 学生们唱农场的歌曲，朗诵关于动物的诗歌。

The headmaster tells team how hard farmers work to give everyone food. 校长告诉他们农民多么辛苦劳动来给每个人提供食物。 Sara and Mark read a poem. 萨拉和马克朗诵了一首诗。

“Thank you farmers for the food so nice ,for beans and apples and pears and rice.”
