Hello, everyone! I’m Sunshine. My major is engineering mechanics. I’m very interested in my current research task of finding new thermal protection materials that are reusable、light weight and low cost。During re-entry, the Orbiter’s external surface reached extreme temperatures – up to 3,000F。Hence, research of heat-protection materials is hot in scientific research at the moment.

In the past semester, I have done some research on heat-protection materials. Crysomallon Squamiferum, a special snail was fond in deep-sea hydrothermal vent gastropod owning natural good insulation structure. Professional mechanics analysis proved that the snail have better structure of heat insulation than most of the others.

Nature is a good teacher as it had evolution for many years. Seeking answer from the nature also can yet be regarded as a good way of scientific research.

上学期，在隔热材料方面我做过一些研究。在印度深海喷口附近发现的一种特殊的蜗牛，通过力学方法的分析，它具有比较优越的隔热结构。其实，进化了很多年的大自然是很好的老师，大自然中的生物经过进化都具有最优的结构。从大自然中寻找答案也不失为科研的另一个好出口。
