Task-based teaching and communicative teaching methods will be adopted. 6, teaching procedures Step 1 warm-up 1) Greetings

2) Free talk: which season do you like best? Why? Step 2 Lead-in

Today we will learn a new way to describe different seasons.


Step 3 presentation

1) Listen to the tape of the poem, and conclude the main idea. (the special features of winter.)

2) Comparing speech and writing with poems, whats the obvious difference that poem has? (the poem has metrical structure while speech and writing dont have.) 3) Now lets us talk about the metrical structure. In order to make some metrical structures, a poem needs some rhymes. If there are some similar sounds in one poem, the poem may produce rhymes. So, can you find some words which has similar sounds in this poem? (snow and grow have the same syllable /ou/. away and day have the same syllable /ei/. And the same syllables are at the end of the sentence. When we read the poem, we should punch the words that contain these same rhymes correctly and properly. To read in right intonation and tones, we also should read the longer sentences a bit faster to match the shorter ones. ) Step 4 practice

1) Listen to the tape and follow to read, pay attention to the pronunciation, intonation and tones.

2) Work in pairs to think out some words with same syllables. (tree, green;butterflies, fly)

Step 5 production

Work in groups in four members and make some sentences or poems with the words appeared in practise. (spring are full of trees, they are all green; there are some butterflies, they are flying high.) Step 6 summary

Students make summary while the teacher makes complement and emotional obtains. (each season has its features. We should love them and enjoy their beauty.) Step 7 homework

Please choose your favourite season and describe it with some rhymes. 7, blackboard design
