Hello everyone. My name is Yang Hongfei.Today,I'm going to give a speech about transportation.

I believe many of you have heard such a complaint: why is there never a bus when you want one?why is there never enough parking spaces? Obviously, traffic problems are universal and important.

OK，now，I will talk about transportation from four aspects.

At first,I want to talk about the current traffic congestion.As we all know,in such a populous country as China, traffic congestion is very common.With the acceleration of urbanization process,urban planning and traffic planning is very easy to be not coordinated.As a result, the contradiction between supply and demand of traffic is increasing. And also,the development of public transport lags behind.Additionally, there are still some problems, such as unreasonable traffic mode and insufficient static capacity.

Secondly,I would like to introduce the global policy direction.………So the traffic situation has been paid more and more attention.

Ok,next, I'll combine part three with part four,introducing the measures taken by foreign countries in detail.As we can see,there are many useful foreign measures which did alleviate the city traffic pressure effectively. And these are the ten cities with the best traffic management.Obviously, the traffic situation in our country is not satisfactory.After all, none of the ten cities is Chinese.I want to talk about Singapore,which is a small country mainly composed of Chinese.

Quite a number of things have been done to help solve traffic problems in Singapore. For example, motorists must buy a special pass if they want to drive into the downtown business district. They can go into the business

district only if they have the pass displayed on their windshield. Another thing Singapore has done is to make it more difficult to buy cars. People have to apply for a certificate if they want to buy a car. And the number of

certificates is limited. Not everyone can get one. There is also a high tax on cars, so it costs three or four times as much to buy a car in Singapore as it does in, say, the United States or Canada. The other thing Singapore has done is to build an excellent pubic transportation system. Their subway system is one of the best in the world. And there is also a very good taxi and bus system.

Hopefully, we can learn from these cities and build a transportation power. One day, the first city will be China.
