对 there be 句型中主语的数量提问时 ,如果主语是可数名词 , 不管主语是单数还是 复数一般都用复数形式提问。即用 How man y+可数名词复数+are there+地点/时 间状语 的句型结构
如:There is a pen on the desk.用 how many 改为特殊疑问句）

（1） 用来询问事物的 数量，后接不可数名词
例如：How much water is there in the cup 杯里有多少水 （2） 用来询问事物的 重量

（3） how much 意为“多少钱”时，用来询问某物的 价钱、价格 例如：—How much is the book这本书多少钱
3、 how long
（1） 表示多长时间，主要用来对 一段时间 提问
如： A： How long did he live here 他在这儿住了多久 B： About two years. 大约两
年。
（2） 表示某东西有多长，对 长度提问。
如： A： How long is the ruler 这根尺子有多长
B： About 20 cm. 大约 20 厘米。
4、 how soon
指再过多久，主要对表示 将来的一段时间（如in an hour, in two weeks）提问 如： A： How soon will he be back 他要多久才回来
B： In an hour. 1 小时以后。
