Writing: Compared with spending your college life in China, is it better to go overseas for university study? Why?



Studying in China or Going Overseas For University Study?

Nowadays, staying in china to complete one’s college life or going overseas for university study has become a problem which troubles many students.

People views on vary from person to person. Some hold that going overseas for university study is the better. However, others believe that studying in China is the best choice.

As is known to all of us, one coin has two sides. Both Studying in China and studying abroad have their own advantages and disadvantages. Compared with studying in china, going overseas for university study is often considered as a greater opportunity which will lead to bright future in one’s ride of passage. Not only can we learn different cultures and knowledge from foreign countries, but also can we enrich our lives. Universities in China have less studying resources and worse studying condition than famous universities in other countries. As far as many people are concerned, students can aquire more knowledge if they going overseas for university study.


However, disadvantages of going overseas for university study may affect one’s life culturally and economically. We Chinese will experience cultural shocks if we study abroad and live in another country. Some peers may not be able to adapt to a new environment of their studying and living, which may be very different from that of theirs. If one does not feel comfortable with the new culture of another country, he will not be happy and can’t study with single-hearted devotion. In addition, studying abroad can cost most of students a great deal of living expenses. Furthermore, many students don’t know how to look after themselves. They have to deal with many unexpected hardships by living away from their parents and homeland. For example, daily foods, clothes, rents and transportation can generate a large amount of living expenses. Often time, they need to heavily depend on their parents’ overseas monthly payments. Compared with going overseas for university study, we can save a large amount of money and avoid a series of problems.

Compared with spending your college life in China, is it better to go overseas for university study? My answer is “ That depends on ”.

My belief is that for those students who like to go overseas for university study should build strong characters in facing of unexpected difficulties in their life. If you don’t have confident, staying in China is more feasible. Do you agree with me?
