【摘 要】Gentlemen and villains are two kinds of characters in “A Collection of Sayings”in the confucian cultural spirit.Gentlemen,an ideal embodiment of personality,portrayed by Confucious who lived during the Spring and Autumn Period,experiencing political failure and then changing over to an academic study,shouldered the social responsibility and sacred historical mission which was to restore the courtesy of Zhou Dynasty and govern the country.In my opinion,we should consider gentlemen and villains simply not to be a sort of personality strength but a sort of cultural phenomenon against the enormous cultural system of the courtesy of Zhou Dynasty,which had its special cultural connotation and important historic and realistic meaning,therefore it became a sign of cultural symbol.%《论语》中的“君子”与“小人”是孔子文化精神上的两类人物。而“君子”，成为了生活在“礼崩乐坏”的春秋时期、历经政治失败而转入学术关怀的孔子企图恢复周礼而塑造的具有理想人格的化身，担负着复周礼而治国的神圣历史使命和社会责任。笔者认为，不能将“君子”与“小人”简单界定为一种人格力量，而应该看作是以庞大的周礼文化体系为背景的一种文化现象，有其特定的文化内涵与重要的历史现实意义，从而成为了一种文化象征的符号。
